About Me

MINDY DICKINSON, B.A., M.A., Ph.D., J.D., Certified Integral Hatha Yoga Instructor

At seventeen I taught myself Yoga from a book entitled Richard Hittleman’s YOGA 28 Day Exercise Plan.

I continued to practice and took lessons from various teachers to make sure that what I was doing was correct.

At twenty-seven, while in Graduate School for my Ph.D. in Italian literature, I took six months to study to become a Certified Yoga Instructor.   I studied at the Integral Hatha Yoga Institute in Buckingham, Virginia under the tutelage of renowned, now deceased, Sri Swami Satchidananda, a man of great integrity.

I already had my law degree and was a practicing attorney- but I knew that I was not following my bliss at that time. Teaching Italian language and literature and teaching Spanish were better but, I knew then, as I know now, that a large component of my calling is to share the healing techniques of Yoga to as many people as I can.

I am grateful for the marvelous undergraduate education I received at Bryn Mawr College, Class of 1976.  They taught me how to be a critical thinker.

No matter what job I have had or where I have lived, as lawyer, as professor, I have always taught Yoga somewhere, somehow in one capacity or another.

In the past twenty four years, when I moved back to this country from where I was living in Tegucigalpa, Honduras I have taught at the Yoga Garden in Narberth, Pennsylvania, at Yoga Plus in Wynnewood, at the Lane Montessori Pre-School, Wynnewood, at the Narberth Presbyterian Church in Narberth as a community service, at the United Methodist Church in Narberth, at the Jewish Community Center in Wynnewood and as a private instructor in my home or client’s home.  I am also currently teaching classes at the Penn Wynne Presbyterian Church, at First Position Dance Arts in Ardmore, and privately in my home.

I am a trained Yoga Therapist helping people of all ages, sizes, shapes and disabilities. I have had many experiences. My clients have had Crohn’s disease, diabetes, Parkinson’s, HIV/Aids, MS, other movement disorders, cancer, heart disease and mental illness such as bipolar illness, ADD and clinical depression. I also specialize in autoimmune disease and addiction.

I am also pleased to guide in meditation practice, am adept at guiding deep relaxation, polarity therapy and guided visualizations. In addition, I teach Water Yoga. Whether you are a star athlete or confined to bed or a wheelchair I can help you.

Yoga is part of me and always will be.  It has saved my life.  I believe in it and know of its benefits.  Let me share it with you! Satisfaction guaranteed!
